All of our babies get personal, hands-on love and care. Our staff is trained to provide your child with a secure, attentive, and loving day. Because each infant is on a different schedule, the babies will eat and sleep on the schedule the parents provide the teachers. As they grow and start to sit up, they transition to sitting into sassy seats at the table, high chairs and their schedule gradually changes. They go on daily walks either inside the school, or outside, weather permitting, in baby buggies (strollers that seat 4 to 6 babies) and really enjoy the different sights and sounds.
Upon picking up your child at the end of each day, you will be given a daily information sheet as to everything your child has done during the day, the time they were fed, what they drank and how much, when they were changed and when they napped. You will also be notified as to anything your child is running low on, and what you need to bring in.
Caring for your child comes first, and we would like to be your “home away from home” for both you and your child.
They follow a daily routine and schedule. They make full use of our Specialty Rooms and utilize the Computer, Art, and Music room every week. They go to our indoor gym and outdoor playground (weather permitting) twice a day. The teachers do daily projects, read books, flash cards, and act out stories and songs with the class. At this age, the children love to dance and listen to music.
This is a big transition age for the children, as they start to be potty-trained and weaned off using sippy cups, and learn to drink from a cup. They eat at the table and begin to use a fork and spoon. They are each assigned a cubby labeled with their name where parents can keep extra clothes. Parents provide a sheet and blanket for their cot, along with pull-ups or diapers while being potty-trained. A monthly lunch menu is available, and if something is being served that your child does not like, you can send lunch in with them. We have a refrigerator and microwave in each room.
Upon picking up your child at the end of each day, you will be given a daily information sheet advising you what your child ate for lunch, snack, how long they napped, when they were changed, and anything that you need to bring in.

Our Preschoolers follow a daily schedule each day. They make full use of our Specialty Rooms and love working in our Computer, Art, and Music room. Children enjoy sitting in circle time, learning their numbers, letters, colors, shapes, and listening and acting out stories and rhymes. They go to our indoor gym and outside playground (weather permitting) twice a day. Teachers do projects with them each day according to themes for the month, and dance and exercise.
By this age, most of the children are potty-trained and eating the school lunch. Each child naps on a cot, and parents provide the sheet and blanket. Some of the children are capable of making their own cots and after nap time, the children put their bedding in their knapsacks and hang it up, in the hallway, under their assigned cubbies. They fully understand that after play time, they clean up and know exactly where everything goes in the classroom. They are introduced to centers, which are different areas of play/learning. Some examples are, “The Block Center,” “Dress-Up/Dramatic Play Center,” “The Art Center,” and “The Puzzle Center.” This prepares them for Pre-Kindergarten.

Here at Christ the King, we have a Pre-K for All program funded by the Department of Education. It is five days a week, from 9:10am-3:30pm. We offer extended hours for our Pre-K students as well. We are open from 7:00am to 7:00pm.
Our classrooms are designed for the growth and development of your children. Playing is a critical part to active learning. Children are learning when they explore, discover, and investigate, role play, and use tools and materials in creative ways.
The children follow a daily schedule all day, every day. Each Pre-K classroom is set up with seven centers where the children go during center time. The centers are Math, Science, Art, Dramatic Play/Housekeeping, Blocks, Library, and Computer/Writing. The children have their choice each day during center time to work in the center they choose. They start their day off with a morning snack, which we provide, followed by their morning meeting, which then leads into center time. The children at our school get plenty of physical activity. Music and exercise in a group, is part of our daily curriculum that the children really enjoy. They go to our indoor gym or outdoor playground every day (weather permitting.)
In our Pre-K program, the teachers follow monthly units. They align tasks, observations and assessments with the common core learning standards, and it is carried out in the different centers. The children are actively involved in the theme, as they want to learn more and ask many questions. They exchange ideas with each other, and are very eager to share their opinion. The teachers interact and help to expand the children’s vocabulary.
